The New European Bauhaus and Circular Design

The New European Bauhaus and Circular Design

2021.04.14

Packaging is one of the most wasteful products in our homes,  and commonly it is only used once.  The Paper Bottle is a pioneering project that reveals opportunities and challenges in circular design.

The next Circular Design HOW TO? session,  hosted by the Estonian Design Center,  will take place on April 15 at 15:00 – 16:30 (GMT+1).

Tune in to hear our own Kinge Gardien talk about Paboco (The Paper Bottle Company) and how our collaborative approach can create circular design solutions.

Honoured and proud,  we are looking forward to the Guldägget gala on May 19th,  when the winners will be announced.

Extending the Ramlösa family

Our friends at Carlsberg wanted to broaden the Ramlösa selection with a functional water,  boosted with extracts from nature.

We’re proud to have been a part of creating the name,  position,  design and packaging of this slim-can with a straightforward,  yet personal and tasteful,  feel.

The Guldägget 2021 jury

The Guldägget 2021 jury

2021.02.24

Another prestigious jury assignment for our Creative Director and Head of Design Isabelle Dahlborg-Lidström.  This year she joins the Guldägget jury as chairwoman for the category Packaging Design.

Celebrating 60 years,  Guldägget (The Gold Egg Award) is the oldest and largest communication competition in Sweden.  Since the start in 1961 it has grown and become an ever wider competition that now covers most of what can be called communication.  With a purpose to raise the level of the creative standard,  Guldägget draws attention to the best advertisements at present and leads the industry forward.  The winners of this year’s edition will be announced around easter.

Cap & Design sat down with Isabelle,  and a few fellow jury members,  for five quick questions about the competition.

First place for Pearl

First place for Pearl

2021.01.18

Finally, it’s here! The Dieline Plastic Free Innovation Award for our work with Pearl paper pods – a fiber-based alternative to plastic sample packets, developed together with BillerudKorsnäs and Syntegon.

The award is given out in conjunction with non-profit organisation A Plastic Planet. We are honoured by the words of APP co-founder Sian Sutherland,

“Every year, humans produce almost a trillion little plastic packets. Single-serve, single-use sachets of ketchup, soy sauce, shampoo and detergent, face wipes, the list is endless. […] The plastic packet sachet has always been considered too hard to replace. This is exactly how our future should look. Aspirational, beautiful, and best of all, using a sustainable material nature can easily handle.”

Syntegon wins the German Packaging Award

Syntegon wins the German Packaging Award

2020.11.02

Proud to announce that our partner Syntegon was honoured by The German Packaging Institute (Deutsches Verpackungsinstitut) for their focus on sustainable and intelligent technologies – winning the German Packaging Awards 2020, in the category ”Packaging Machines”.

The TPU1000 form, fill and seal machine for 3D formable, paper-based packaging material enables a wide range of possibilities for innovative, sustainable portion packs made of fiber-based material.

The packaging system is a result from a collaboration between Grow, BillerudKorsnäs and PackZ that started three years ago with the “Grow” concept in the pursuit of offering an alternative to single use packaging. Together we offer proof of concept projects to brands in order to qualify the technology and commercial applications enabled by the system before investment decisions.

More information available through either of the partners in the project. For more information from Grow contact Liselotte Tingvall at liselotte@grow.eu.
