Together, during a broad transformation process, we redefined the brand to build a stronger and more emotional connection to customers and to support a coherent, impactful delivery across all markets, touchpoints and audiences – including consumers, professional painters and industrial clients. 

The result? A strategy that bridges Tikkurila’s colour expertise and premium quality with a more visionary view on the impact paint has on our lives, our well-being, and the environment. At the heart of this new strategy lies the brand essence:

Painting a bigger picture. It’s a rallying cry that’s all about inspiring people to transform their surroundings for a brighter future. Through not only lifestyle-reflecting look and feel, but also – with Tikkurila’s sustainability efforts – solutions that enable a safer and healthier tomorrow.

The work propelled a bold and confident brand expression system guiding both verbal and visual communication, including packaging design. Designed with activation in mind, the platform was also used as inspiration for a number of campaigns, a new retail environment and a digital service for professional painters – to name but a few.

With a low-engagement category and a limited control of the retail experience, identifying an emotionally engaging story was paramount.
