Collaborations to accelerate new sustainable packaging technologies.
Yangi Dry Forming Technology is a new way of shaping cellulose material to replace up to 40 percent of rigid plastics used in packaging. The collaboration project Conic project demonstrates what’s possible to achieve when combining the possibilities of new technologies with the resources of a progressive industrial partner.
The prototype is a wood-based formable packaging solution, with a refill function, that illustrates how packaging, usually made from plastics, can be made from sustainable materials. The design mirrors the shape of the pod, creating a visual comparison of the qualities of each component.
The Conic project supports the Holmen Iggesund strategy of co-learning around the purposeful packaging. Showcasing the possibilities of Yangi Dry Forming technology in the beauty and cosmetics category as a way of attracting brand owners and prototyping partners to drive sustainable change also in other categories.
